Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 each Onion
  • 1 each Carrot
  • 1 each Celery Stalk
  • 3 each Garlic Cloves
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1/2 lb Ground Pork
  • 3 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 4 cup Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tsp Italian Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 tbsp Parsley

Directions

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, carrot, and celery and cook for 6 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the ground beef and ground pork and cook until browned, breaking the meat into small pieces. Drain excess fat if needed. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Add the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, milk, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, reduce the heat to low, and cook uncovered for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and parsley before serving.
